PPEsuccess.com is a boutique admissions consultant, catering specifically to Oxford applicants for Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE). After working as a tutor for several years with a variety of other Oxbridge admissions consultants, I realised that by offering application help for every single course, they were unable to offer excellent advice in any single course, as they cannot have expertise in every single course, and so instead must generalise, and then source tutors via the internet.

The reality is that the application process for PPE at Oxford is vastly different from, say, Material Sciences at Cambridge, and so you’re unlikely to receive optimal tuition from a company which offers tuition for applications to both of these courses, as well as countless others. This is why I created PPEsuccess.com — to deliver high-quality, tailored tuition that simply cannot be delivered by these larger and more generalised admissions consultants, giving our students the best possible chance of acceptance onto this notoriously competitive course.

Our single-course focus and my own personal experience with this course affords me the luxury of building my team only from the large pool of PPE graduates that my team and I personally know and trust, rather than being forced to find tutors online as other companies are, and so I can know that my tutors will be of the highest standard. Furthermore, our relatively small size and narrow focus means that we can offer this better service at a more reasonable price than these other admissions consultants, as we don’t suffer from the diseconomies of scale they encounter, having to rent big offices, employ numerous administrative staff, etc., in order to manage their wide-ranging business.

Our aim has always been to deliver the best service available anywhere, at the best possible rates so that no student is excluded. With this in mind, we created the PPE Application Guide to be offered alongside our tutoring services. As well as being an indispensable aid during tutoring sessions, this means that students can receive top-quality guidance outside of those sessions, instead being able to prepare independently.

A recent study by the Sutton Trust showed that Oxbridge graduates earn almost £400,000 more than other university graduates over their lifetime, and almost £200,000 more than other Russell Group Graduates. As such, even from a simple financial standpoint, doing everything you can to maximise your chances of gaining an offer makes sense. However, the financial benefits are insignificant when compared with the richness of the teaching and the value of learning alongside so many talented people — these are experiences I want every student to have the opportunity to take part in, and this is what drives us.
